WW1 Week – Poplar Class

We have spent lots of time this week learning about what it was like in World War One. We have learnt about the trenches and imagined what it might have been like. We have based many conversations about the mud and what it would have felt like. We even had a trench in our classroom! We made poppies in many different ways (paper, egg carton, paint, crayon) identifying the symbolism of the poppy. We wrote poems which described the mud in the trenches and the soldiers. We also looked at medals which belonged to Miss Priddle’s Great Grandfather.
