Woodlands – Day 3 – Maple Class

Everyone slept in much longer today – in fact most of the children had to be woken up in time for breakfast.  Any bleary eyes were soon gone as after another delicious breakfast we all got ready for the days activities.  Today saw another two groups canoeing on the canal, a group caving and a group tackling the high ropes course and zip wire.

We were yet again so impressed with the determination shown by the children as they lifted canoes to the water, crawled through caves, got to the top of the climbing wall to ring the bell and went from tree to tree in the high ropes course.  The children have been so wonderful in the way they have mixed with everyone from Dorchester School and together they all encourage and support each other; showing real care for the others in their groups.

Once back on site and showered and lots of very wet clothes hung in the drying room everyone tucked into yet another delicious meal.  The children are all really stepping up with their independence, making their beds and tidying their rooms each day as well taking turns to serve at dinner and set the tables for meals.

Currently they are all out in the evening sun enjoying an orienteering course around the site – I am sure they will all sleep well tonight.
