Willow class have been learning about teeth. They began by making instructional videos about human teeth, They have compared animal jaws and grouped them. This week we thought about keeping our teeth clean. We found out that the Egyptians were the first civilization to use brushes and toothpowder. The Romans were also very keen to keep their teeth clean, they used mouse brains in their paste.
We made toothpaste using bicarb, cornflour, glycerine. Groups added food colouring and essence. We tested our paste using four criteria: smell, look, consistency and ability to clean. We thoguht about the improvements that we could make and made an improved batch. We realised that fair testing was very important when testing the cleaning ability of our mixtures.
