Prayer Space in Maple Class

Since the start of term we have been thinking about the war with Ukraine and Russia as we start our new topic “My name is not Refugee.”

We are really sorry for Ukraine as they are battling for their lives and their country. We also feel really bad for the families from Ukraine that have to flee from their home country – we cannot imagine what it would be like to be a refugee.  We appreciate and respect that other countries are there to help them through the battle – we thank Poland for supporting and encouraging Ukraine since they started struggling and for welcoming all the refugees who have entered their country

In school Maple Class have decided to make a prayer space and we’ve made beautiful sunflowers with some really astonishing prayers on them – we have shared some of them with you below.

We would also like to let our Russian families know within the school that they are also within our prayers as this must be a worrying time for them too.

Dear God

Please help Ukraine whilst they battle in this war; help the poor families who are getting attacked every hour – they need you.  Also help the people who have nothing to do with this war but are Russian to feel less worried and scared.

Amen

Dear God

Please help the people of Ukraine and keep them safe until this war ends.  Please make the war stop so people don’t get hurt and need to leave their homes.  Please make Poland stay safe for the people who are living there and the families who are felling their to safety.  Thank you that I am in a safe place.

Amen

Dear God

Please help the people of Ukraine because nobody deserves to be treated this way.  People should be able to be safe in their own homes without hearing and being scared of bombs.  We are grateful for our lives and pray that Ukraine stays safe.

Amen
