Maple Class have been learning about why the moon looks to be a different shape at different times of the month. We found out that these are different phases of the moon and that the moon is always there we just can’t always see all of it. In order to help us understand what is happening we got to carry out an experiment where we were the earth and we held out the moon as we rotated round, doing this in front of our very own sun meant that we could see exactly how the different phases of the moon appear depending on how much sunlight is reflecting off the moon.
