This term our Christian Value is Determination
We are excited about sharing our learning with you on our class page.
This term our topic continues to be Rivers – we will be learning about flood plains and why they are important as well as focusing on the River Thames and the bridges across it.
Homework this term will consist of spellings and times tables to learn each week as well as a Maths, English or Topic related task.
Homework will be given out on a Wednesday and must be handed in the following Tuesday.
Please keep reading regularly and sharing and discussing books with your child at home, even though they are now free readers and older. Not only does this improve their reading and the comprehension of the texts that they share with you but it is a great time to share together as well.
It is important that children are able to recall at speed all their times tables facts including the related division facts The children will be tested on these every Thursday and given opportunity in class to practise their times tables but this needs to be complemented by further practise at home.
Children will continue to receive spellings each week and they need to practise their spellings at home; they will be tested every Friday in class.
These MUST include plimsolls or trainers – this term unless it is raining PE lessons will be outside, so please also make sure that your child has a t-shirt, shorts and/or jog bottoms and a jumper for PE along with hair tied back if your child has long hair. If your child has earrings they must either put tape (which you should provide) over their earrings for the PE session or be able to take out their own earrings. Your child should have their PE kits in school all week as it may be necessary to change the day.
