In PE, Maple Class have been learning about the Haka.
The Haka is a Maori dance originating in New Zealand. Haka are usually performed in a group and typically represent a display of a tribe’s pride, strength, and unity.
We watched Haka’s performed by the New Zealand rugby team, at weddings, schools and those used to meet and greet people.
We studied the movements and actions of dances then began to form our own dance. We watched each other’s performances and continually evaluated and improved our own. We began joining into smaller groups. We filmed our work so that we could analyse and develop our dance combining the best bits.
