Finding squash seeds

We used a hammer to smash open our squashes. This helps develop our fine and gross motor skills as we use our whole arm. We also learnt how to use a hammer safely.

Theo noticed that the squash seeds were different from the sunflower seeds. They were “inside and wet”, whereas the sunflower seeds were “dry and on the outside, at the top”.

We wondered how many seeds there were, “20? More than 20. Maybe a hundred!” There was some great estimating.
