Earth and Space Workshop – Maple Class

Maple Class were lucky enough to visit Abingdon School and take part in an Earth and Space workshop in their Laboratory.  Firstly we created models of the solar system including planets, moons and asteroid belts.  Next we used objects to see the different in size between the Earth and Moon and work out how far away from each other they were.  After this we explored the different seasons, finding out that all planets which are tilted like the Earth have seasons.  We then saw and smelt a comet being made, no-one liked the smell of the ammonia!  It was great fun learning more about the Solar System and we can’t wait to go back after half term for a space flight workshop.
