As part of our topic ‘Fizz, Pop, Bang’, Ash Class have been making firework pictures using different art materials. We found that the oil pastels worked best for portraying the bright colours of the fireworks.
We have been focusing on sketching for part of our artwork this term and using the skills we have learnt to sketch the Sutton Hoo helmet. These are Noah, James, Shashank and Molly-Rose’s sketches
Oak class had fun watching porridge cook on the fire. It was so delicious that everyone wanted seconds.
Beech class looked at the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in art this week and discussed his work. One of the most common images in his work is the skull. We designed our own skull thinking carefully about blending colours and creating patterns.
We have been reading a new book in drawing club called The Snowflake. The children have started writing some lovely stories of their own.
