Term 3A

Welcome back to a new school term! We are very excited to welcome everyone back. This term we are having Outdoor Explorers on Friday afternoons so please can you send your child in on Fridays wearing outdoor clothes.
Please continue to send children’s reading records into school everyday. These are a great way for us to communicate about your child’s reading and it helps their fluency if we follow the correct book progression.

Reading practice is essential to develop decoding, understanding and enjoyment of books. Please keep sharing books as well as hearing your child read regularly.  By sharing and discussing books with your child at home this improves their reading and the comprehension of the texts that they share with you as well as being a great time to share together.  We have reading records and bookmarks for every child so please make sure you sign these every time your child reads to you, these will be checked and comments will be written by staff as well when we hear your child read. Please contact us if you need Rocket Phonics logins.

Homework will be sent out every Monday. This is word lists to practise reading and spelling at home. At the beginning of term we will also send out our homework menu full of activities you may like to complete at home.

PE kits

Children will be doing PE on Wednesday and Thursdays. Your child should have their PE kit in school all week as it may be necessary to change days unexpectedly.  Your child’s PE kit MUST include plimsolls or trainers. Many PE lessons will be outside so please also make sure that your child has a t-shirt, shorts and/or tracksuit bottoms and a jumper for PE. Please make sure all items are named.

Please also make sure long hair is tied back and if your child has earrings they must either put tape (which you should provide) over their earrings for the PE session or be able to take out their own earrings.
