Art in Maple Class

As part of our Art on exploring identity we have been exploring how artists embrace aspects of their experiences of life – using their background, culture, race, gender, and interests to inform and shape their artwork.

We started by focusing on how you draw faces, really thinking about the details needed and how we represented the different features on our faces.  It was difficult to start with but after two lessons creating portarits we were able to create our own pen and ink images of faces.

We used water based pens and biros to draw our faces and then using water we added shading for effect.  Everyone was extremely proud of their finished work.
