I have lived in Drayton and Milton Village for the past 40 years. I am a retired Secondary school Biology teacher,  now heavily involved in Local Politics. I am currently the County Councillor for the Sutton Courtenay and Marcham Division ( including Milton and Milton Heights). I have a keen interest in all aspects of Education, I am keen to help the Governing Body of St Blaise through what is sure to be a rapid period of growth and change, by facilitating close relations with the County Council.

Caroline Darling

Parent Governor, Term of Office Ends 11th January 2019

As my title suggests, I am the parent of two children whom currently attend the school. My role involves contributing to both the school’s success and all the children’s wellbeing by working with staff and governors, other parents and the wider community to achieve common goals which benefit the school and surrounding area.

Prior to becoming a governor, I previously held the role of Chair of the Red Dragon Pre-School, which is independent of the school but utilises the same premises and is a natural feeder for the school’s intake.  Whilst you are most likely to see me around the school, we are a very outdoor orientated family, so you are equally likely to bump into us all, in one of the nearby villages either on foot or on our bikes, no matter what the weather!

Other areas of responsibility

Lead Community Engagement Governor and Deputy Lead Premises Governor (including Health and Safety).

Premises & Health and Safety Committee attendance 2015/16: 4/4

Linda Shatford

Associate Member, Term of Office Ends July 2018

Linda Shatford

I was head teacher of Milton C of E, now St Blaise, from 2000 to 2007. In 2011 I came to visit colleagues at the invitation of the then acting headteacher Ruth Leach and am now, once again, very much part of the School family. As an associate member of the governing body I support the School in much the same way as other governors; additionally I am able to offer my expertise from many years in education- as a teacher, head teacher and Ofsted inspector.  I have a strong connection to the area having grown up in Steventon. This is perhaps where my passion for the survival and success of small schools stem, as I attended the village school

Other Areas of Responsibility:

Lead Learning and Teaching Governor, Safeguarding and Child Protection Governor and SEN Inclusion Lead Governor.

Attendance at Full Governing Body meetings 2015/16:  5/5

My husband and I have recently moved to Milton and I was keen to get involved in the local community. I have been teaching for nearly 30 years, including two headships in two very different primary schools. I hope I will be able to support my local school and am looking forward to getting to know everyone better. I have two grown up sons and my husband is a hospital Chaplain.

Other areas of responsibility:

Lead Staffing Governor, Deputy SIAMS Governor and Deputy Lead SEN Inclusion Governor.

Previous St Blaise Governors

Liam Tremayne-Reichsburg– Co-opted governor from July 2016-July 2017. Areas of responsibilities were Deputy Lead Premises Governor.

Sarah Metcalfe

Clerk

I joined St Blaise in July 2016 and have been warmly welcomed by both staff and governors. It is a pleasure to be a part of such an inclusive and caring school and I will support the board in any way that I can.

7. Long Term Vision Map 2016 3-7 year plan

This plan is for school use and is a living document (it will be reviewed and updated at key points in the year) but governors felt that in the spirit of transparency we would make it available on the school website. It is aspirational and sets out the areas we would like to change over time and those areas such as our ethos and family feel which we want to retain.
