Topic Webs

This term our Christian Value is Respect

We are excited about sharing our learning with you on our class page.

This term our topic continues to be RAF 100, during which we will be researching about the history of the Royal Airforce and its 100 year history as well as exploring the local history of RAF Milton and Milton Height’s part. We look forward to sharing all of our work with you at the end of term.

Homework

Homework this term will consist of spellings and times tables to learn each week as well as a Maths, English or Topic related task.

Homework will be given out on a Wednesday and must be handed in the following Tuesday.  Spellings are tested on a Monday each week – thanks for your support – the hard work learning the spellings is making a real difference to the children’s writing.

Reading

It is essential that you read regularly and share and discuss books with your child at home, even when they are a free reader. Not only does this improve their reading but their comprehension of the texts that they share with you.

Times tables

It is important that children are able to recall at speed all their times tables facts including the related division facts   The children will be regularly tested and given opportunity in class to practise their times tables but this needs to be complemented by further practise at home.

Spellings

Children will continue to receive spellings each week and they need to practise their spellings at home; they will be tested every Monday in class.

PE kits

These MUST include plimsolls or trainers – this term unless it is raining many PE lessons will be outside, so please also make sure that your child has a t-shirt, shorts and/or jog bottoms and a jumper for PE along with hair tied back if your child has long hair. If your child has earrings they must either put tape (which you should provide) over their earrings for the PE session or be able to take out their own earrings. Your child should have their PE kits in school all week.
